PURCHASE UNIFORMS
WHAT TO WEAR

Proper dancewear is required for all classes:

  • Hair pulled back (bun for ballet)
  • No jewelry
  • Street Shoes and clothes are NOT allowed in any class
  • Dance shoes should NEVER be worn outside the studio (INCLUDING HIP HOP SNEAKERS). This damages the dance shoes and our dance floors. Dancers should change into their dance shoes upon arriving at the studio for their class. 
  • No basketball shorts (long), baggy sweats or tee shirts allowed ONLY in Hip Hop class
  • Wearing only socks is ONLY allowed in CONTEMPORARY class

DANCE WITH ME
  • Girls Pink leather ballet, Guys Black leather,  with elastic instep. Shoes can be fitted at the studio. 
  • Girls:  Any color leotard and tights
  • Guys: Tee shirt & stretchy shorts
CREATIVE MOVEMENT 3-4

Ballet, Tap and Tumbling Combo class will change shoes one time during the lesson.

  • Girls: Pink leather ballet slipper
  • Girls: Black tap shoe with either velcro buckle or faux tie style with elastic is OK.  
  • Girls: Pink leotard and tights. Skirts and tutus are allowed.
  • Guys: Black leather ballet slipper
  • Guys:  any brand black Oxford style. 
  • Guys: Tee shirt & stretchy shorts.
INTRO TO BALLET/TAP COMBO 4-5

Ballet, Tap, and Tumbling Combo class will change shoes one time during the lesson.

  • Girls: Pink leather ballet slipper
  • Girls: Black tap shoe with either a velcro buckle or faux tie style with elastic is OK.  
  • Girls: Yellow leotard and tights. Skirts and tutus are allowed.
  • Guys: Black leather ballet slipper
  • Guys:  any brand black Oxford style. 
  • Guys: Tee shirt & black tights/leggings.
PRE BALLET/TAP COMBO 5-6

Ballet and Tap will use ballet, jazz and tap shoes listed below

  • Girls: Pink split-sole leather ballet slipper
  • Guys: Black leather or canvas split sole ballet slipper
  • Girls: Black tap shoes with laces or slide-on tap shoes either Capezio or Bloch brand.  
  • Guys:  any brand black Oxford style. 
  • Girls:  Lavender leotard and tights. 
  • Guys: Tee shirt & black tights/leggings.
BALLET
  • Class leotards, shoes, and tights can are available in studio or can be found online here: Shop Nimbly
  • Level 3 and higher ballet dancers may also wear a dance skirt in the same color as their class leotard. 
  • Hair must be pulled back securely in a neat bun with a hair net. If hair is too short to achieve a bun we recommend a French or Dutch braid.
LEVELED CLASSES

Jazz

  • All Genders: Jazz shoes or barefoot. For jazz shoes, we recommend any stretch canvas jazz shoe in a color that best matches the dancer’s skin tone. Leggings, tights, or shorts with at least a 2″ inseam must be worn. 
  • Any color leotard or fitted tank/athletic top is permitted. 
  • Hair pulled back. 

Hip-Hop

  • All Genders: White tennis shoes with a WHITE sole. All HH students will need these shoes for performance. Shoes are for IN-STUDIO ONLY. 
  • Tank tops /t-shirts and baggy cargo/jogger style pants. 
  • All female dancers must wear sportsbra/fitted undershirt underneath top.
  • Hair pulled back, bun not required.

Lyrical

  • All genders:  Half sole shoes in a color that best matches the dancer’s skin tone.
  • Leggings or shorts with 2″ inseam or longer. 
  • Leotard or form-fitting athletic top.
  • Hair neatly pulled back. 

Tap

  • Leggings or shorts with 2″ inseam or longer. 
  • Leotard or form-fitting athletic top.
  • Girls: Mary Jane Flat tap shoe with a buckle strap or Oxford lace-up style Tap shoe in black. 
  • Guys: Any Brand Oxford tie-up style in black ( Bloch Respect or Capezio Fluid preferred)

Contemporary 

  • Class is taken in socks or barefoot. Socks should be a crew sock. This is the ONLY class that is to be taken in socks. 
  • All genders: fitted athletic clothing. Long-sleeved shirt is optional due to floorwork. 
  • Hair neatly pulled back. 
TEEN CLASSES

Ballet

  • Girls any style and color leotard and tights. Skirts are permitted. 
  • Guys: men’s ballet tights or joggers of any color, fitted shirts. 
  • Girls: split-sole leather or canvas pink shoes, 
  • Guys: split-sole leather shoes in black

Jazz

  • All Genders: Slip on jazz bootie EJ2 Capezio split sole caramel or color closest to skin tone, you may also be asked to wear black for certain routines depending on costuming.
