JAZZ, LYRICAL, & CONTEMPORARY

Jazz dance is a lively, energetic form of dance characterized by syncopated rhythms, dynamic movements, and improvisation. Contemporary features dynamic, fluid movement through space, blending balance and control,and shifting weight and momentum into ever-changing shapes. Lyrical blends ballet, jazz, and contemporary movement into fluid, graceful sequences that convey emotion through expressive, precise motion set closely to music.

Your dancers will learn to have precise control over their bodies to execute a variety of intricate, dynamic, and expressive movements, including big leaps and quick turns. Our classes focus on strong technique, flexibility, and style. Each class consists of warm-up, skills and steps, combinations, and across-the-floor work.

6+ Jazz/Lyrical

This class will introduce dancers to basic Jazz technique, fundamentals, and terminology. Dancers will also learn how to portray emotion with their movements while working on picking up choreography during weekly class combinations. Students enrolled in this class do not need prior training. However, the class is taught at a faster pace than our combo classes.

Recommended Ages: 6-8

8+ Jazz/Lyrical/Contemporary

This class focuses on developing a strong foundation of jazz technique, which is necessary for progression in multiples genres of dance. Dancers will also learn how to portray emotion with their movements while working on picking up choreography during weekly class combinations. As they grow, dancers will develop an acute sense of musicality and body awareness while learning to tell a story or convey a message through choreography and personal interpretation.
